“Lo ultimo que muere es la esperanza “
The last thing that dies is the HOPE. That’s how Google Translate this Spanish proverb.
The best explanation of hope as I believe and one which touched my heart is in the Letter from Andy (Tim Robbins) to Red (Morgan Freeman) in the movie “The Shawshank Redemption” (one of my fav) – “Remember Red, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”
Hope is all we have from birth… And as the proverb says, it’s the last thing to be lost. But can we just stay around with hope? No I don’t think so… We have to go out there in open and make things happen. We got to work for the better effects we hope for. Sometimes we might have to fight for it too… 🙂
Hope gives us wings but we have to learn ourselves to fly and we have to fly high…
Great hopes may have made great men in the past but they worked for the better things in life.
Life can be facetiously waggish at times. We expect things to happen and it never does… and then we brood over them.. It further causes anxiety, worry and fear… At times many of our events are driven by Fear rather than Hope. If we don’t propel ourselves deep within, fear is what will drive us!
I also believe that FEAR comes as free gift with HOPE. We live a life in hope but also live a life with fear… Of uncanny worries, tensions, stress n what not…
This reminds me of Pandora’s Box. If my Greek Mythology and the School day stories about it are right, then Hope was what was left inside the Box that Pandora opened… Maybe Hope is as dangerous as the other evils let out by Pandora (If at all the entire box contained evils)… Or in other way Hope was what was left behind in the box, if at all the entire box contained good rather than evil. We never know.
We got to break free! 😛
