Anger Management?!

When a man is wrong and won’t admit it, he always gets angry. There never has been any Anger without an argument and seldom does the reasons/ arguments with good ones or good enough. Talking of this I recollect a dialogue by Sylvester Stallone in his movie Rambo 4 –

“When you’re pushed, killing is easy as breathing.”

If it’d have been that easy, then there would be a fewer people living in this world by now! And also since

“Many People are still alive since it’s illegal to kill someone”

we live like others do…
Some way or the other we are overpowered by Anger at times. But what comes out of anger of a person can be of considerable advantage to self. Coz what comes out of anger will be a good indication of the person he/she is… It’s the one of very emotions of human mind. Anger just blows out the candle of human mind (My earlier post “A stranger note to self!” has this reference too) thus it suggests Anger can be Self Destructive. Human mind is so complex! One emotion is always linked to another and some supplements the other. Hatred is nothing but inveterate anger (can also be read as ‘habitual’ – used Google for this term 😛 )
When your temper rises, all one has to do is count 1 to 10, my Grandfather used to remind me. But my temper is a short short-temper. It rises and subdue in seconds.. But what happens in those fractions of seconds, I have no guarantee…
Confucius quotes:

“When anger rises, think of the consequences.”

But do we really get enough time to do just that? It just begins coz of one’s folly and ends nowhere but in repentance.
Well it’s strange talking about anger. Temper is nothing but “sudden outburst of anger” (noun) also temper stands for “restrain” (verb). So finally whose call is this?
Anger is as a stone cast into a wasp’s nest. But one should be foolish enough to do just that! I didn’t mean casting a stone to wasp’s nest but to be around after hurling one to the nest. 😛

    Hmmm… Anger (Mis)management …

“There never has been any Anger without an argument…”
    I would contest that. 🙂

A long time ago, my teacher said, “When you are angry, first *realise* that you are angry, because in that instant you may be able to tell yourself that the consequences could be tough. That could give you the strength to restrain yourself.”

Difficult to digest at the time, but over the years I did understand what he meant.

Having said that, suppressed anger is like a volcano that could wreak more havoc than the explosive kind!

    Very thought-provoking post.

But rightly so, Anger is one of the emotion that is so difficult to manage…
About Suppressed Anger, I agree totally… Its better to burst out than keep it in us.. Coz someday it’ll suffocate our thoughts and ll do nothing but drown us…
